Welcome to brainstorm ideas with us and develop analysis, assessment and research themes to support good decision-making. The Government plan for analysis, assessment and research for 2019 strengthens the basis for good decision-making and the systematic use of research data in decision making in Government and the ministries during the period 2019–2020.
The sum available for the implementation of the annual plan is EUR 10 million. Topics for the analysis, assessment and research projects in the plan for 2019 can be proposed under the following priority areas:
- Wellbeing, equality and inclusion
- The environment, natural resources and clean solutions
- Sustainably competitive Finland
- National and global security
- Sustainable regional and urban development
- Developing and sustainable public administration
- Other areas
Themes can be proposed and comments on the proposals already submitted can be made on this platform until 16 April. After that, the preparation of the plan will continue in the ministries. The Government will make a decision on the plan in autumn 2018.
The qualities emphasised in the selection of the themes for the analysis, assessment and research plan are usability (a direct link to the decision-making and preparation work in the Government), a cross-administrative approach (the theme is important from the viewpoint of at least two administrative branches) and the ministries' preparedness to introduce the provided information into the preparation of policies. The duration of the projects may range from 6 months to 3 years.
